What Is Sonar Drain Tracing?
Sonar drain tracing is a diagnostic activity which helps us get a clearer understanding of your drainage system. Using specialised drain tracing equipment, electrical pulses are transmitted into the ground which allow us to map out the depth, directional flow, and locate hidden objects such as buried manholes and collapsed pipes within a drainage system.
Sometimes used in conjunction with a CCTV drain survey, sonar drain tracing will help us get a thorough view of your drainage system and pinpoint the fault so we are able to provide you with the most cost effective solution to fix your problem.
Sonar drain tracing can also be used to map out an entire drainage system which can be useful if drainage plans have been lost, or never created. It is also useful if you are intending to build an extension within a few meters of a local authority sewer as they will often insist that the drainage line be sonar traced prior to any works being completed.
